CLAY RECIPE FOR CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS | |
2 c. baking soda (one 1 lb. box) 1 c. cornstarch 1 1/4 c. cold water Mix baking soda and cornstarch in a saucepan. Add water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. When mixture is the consistency of moist mashed potatoes, turn on a plate and cover with a damp cloth. When mixture is cool enough to handle roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. While clay is still soft sketch patterns into ornaments. Stick paper clip half-way in top for hanger. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool enough to handle, paint with water colors and decorate. |
