1 cup sugar plus 1 tbsp. (1 heaping cup)
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup Miracle Whip (no substitutes)
1 cup water
2 tbsp. vanilla

Sift together and add:

2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda

Combine well, mixing for 2 minutes on medium speed. Transfer batter to pan and spread evenly to edges. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Cool completely before icing with your favorite frosting.
