OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. quick-cooking oats
1 stick butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Pour water over oats, let stand for 20 minutes. Cream butter, white and brown sugar with oats. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in greased and floured 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 c. Baker's coconut
1 c. nuts

Mix and frost.
