1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 sm. can Pet evaporated milk
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. pecan pieces

Mix cake mix as directed. Grease and flour 9x13 pan. Bake 1/2 of cake mix in pan at 350 degrees for 20 minutes (or until done).

In double boiler, melt caramels, butter and evaporated milk. Mix until smooth and pour over warm cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top. Top with the rest of the cake mix and finish baking for 20 minutes more.
