WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. sausage meat 2 sm. cans button mushrooms 2 c. washed wild rice 2 med. onions, chopped 2 1/2 c. condensed chicken broth 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate Pinch oregano, thyme, marjoram 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. heavy cream 1/2 c. blanched almonds Saute meat and drain. Saute onions in sausage fat. Add mushrooms and sausage. Cook rice. Mix flour and cream until smooth - add broth and cook until thickened - add other ingredients - toss - put in casserole and bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with almonds before serving. |
