GRANDMA'S RICE PUDDING | |
1 qt. milk 1 c. rice 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. raisins 1 c. sugar 1 c. water Pinch of salt Cook well washed rice with 2 cups of water, sugar, salt 10 minutes. Add milk, 2 cups of milk at a time. Add washed raisins. Add rest of milk stirring all the time, slow heat. Beat up egg with fork well. Add most of it to rice. Turn off heat and add vanilla; stir. Butter a glass dish. Pour in the rice if you have any egg left. Pour it on top of rice and sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg. Bake in oven, 375, until golden color. |
