PIZZA BURGERS | |
1 lb. lean ground beef 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. pizza sauce 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese 8 hamburger buns, split Crumble ground beef into 1 1/2 quart glass casserole. Add onion and cover with casserole lid. Cook on high (maximum power) 4 minutes. Stir to break up meat into small pieces. Continue to cook on high 1 to 2 minutes more. Drain off juices. Stir in salt, pepper, cinnamon, and pizza sauce. Cook, covered, on high 5 to 6 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Stir in 1/2 cup Mozzarella. Arrange 4 bottom halves of buns on microproof plate. Spoon on half the meat mixture. Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon cheese. Top with other half of buns. Cook on high 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until cheese just starts to melt. Repeat for remaining buns. Serve hot. Total cooking time 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 8 servings. |
