CHOCOLATE MAYONNAISE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 c. water
4 tbsp. dry unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Form a well in bowl and add wet ingredients. Mix with spoon until blended, do not beat. Pour into greased and lightly floured 9"x11" pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Prepare icing while cake is cooling.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix ingredients in saucepan; add butter and place over medium heat until butter is melted. Stir continuously, increase heat to high and bring mixture to boil. Boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Beat with spoon until it thickens and pour over cake. This is more like a glaze than a thick icing. If cake or icing are too hot, it will be too runny.
