Try this twist: Use a fork to gently separate the two muffin half's. Spread real butter on the forked side. Place butter side up under broiler setting of toaster oven for a couple minutes until Browning and bubbling. Serve with your favorite toppings. Mine are cream cheese and pink grapefruit marmalade. Yum!

Don't be so harsh folks. I was going to fire up my chainsaw to open the darn thing when suddenly I noticed the words "carefully cut". Then I noticed "toaster" and said to myself, "Ah, so I CAN'T use the pottery kiln, well that explains last week's breakfast disaster.
These tips definitely saved my day I can tell you!

Thank you so much for this great recipe, made it last night for company everyone could not get enough! Can one use margarine? Don't want to mess up such a great recipe.

Jelly is American. In England, Jelly is what you call "Jello". In England one would use jam, or honey or marmalade or marmite. Or....ham and egg with cheese on top....or eggs Benedict....yummmm.

And no this isn't a recipe but I don't actually think there are any American recipes. Just pouring a bunch of cans into a pot and heating. Bleh.

Thanks for the feedback, Whatevs. We Americans are bereft with our sad cans of pouring and our lack of marmite. If only we could aspire to your heights of Australian cuisine! Jam...honey... marmalade... eggs and ham and cheese... I wish I had thought of some of those exotic options!!!
