BUTTERSCOTCH LACE COOKIES 
1/4 lb. (1 stick) soft butter
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1 c. Minute Quaker oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. flour

Mix together, chill in refrigerator. Pinch off small onto cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil (absolutely essential!) Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes watch as they tend to burn quickly. Let rest a few moments before removing from foil.
