1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 1/2 c. milk 3 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar, optional 1 tbsp. butter 1 egg 1 1/2 c. raisins Before beginning dry mixture, put 1 tablespoon lemon juice in about 1 1/2 cups milk and set aside to sour then sift the following ingredients together: Flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Then add butter and mix with fingers until it is the consistency of corn meal. Next add raisins. Take the egg and add it to the sour milk mixture and beat well. Mix with dry ingredients. Put into a well greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until done. |
