CHERRY LOAF 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. golden sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. walnuts
1 sm. bottle maraschino cherries, cut in thirds

Drain and save juice from cherries. Add milk and juice from cherries to make 1 cup liquid.

Cream butter, sugar and add egg and beat well. Add flour and dry ingredients alternately with liquid. Add nuts and cherries. Spoon into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to rack.
