CANADIAN MEAT BALLS IN CREAM
GRAVY
 
4 slices Canadian bacon, diced
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. allspice
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef broth or beef consomme
1 can evaporated milk

In skillet saute bacon; set aside, then saute onions and set aside. Mix together ground beef, egg, salt and allspice. Shape into small meat balls. Add butter to drippings in skillet. Fry meat balls until brown. Set aside.

Stir flour into drippings. Gradually add beef broth and cook, stirring until slightly thickened. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes. Add evaporated milk and heat just to boiling. Add meat balls, bacon and onions.
