BURNT CREME DESSERT 
1 pt. whipping cream
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat cream over low heat until it bubbles from around edge of pan. Beat egg yolks. Stir eggs and vanilla into cream. Pour into 6 ounce custard cups. Place cups in baking pan that has about 1/2" of water in bottom. Bake until set or 45 minutes. Remove cups and refrigerate until chilled. Sprinkle each cup with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Place on top rack under broiler. Cook until medium brown. Chill and serve.
