PINEAPPLE SQUARES 
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple (undrained)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. pecans, chopped

Mix dry ingredients together. Beat in wet ingredients already blended together, for 2 to 3 minutes until well mixed. Pour into greased 15 x 10 pan or (one 13 x 9 pan and one 8 x 8 pan). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Toothpick should be sticky but not wet. Adjust temperature per hot or cold oven. This is great to make one for family and take one to shut in's.

ICING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend and spread on top of cooled cake. Makes 24 (2 inch) squares.
