CHEWY PECAN COOKIE SQUARES 
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup chopped pecans

In a large bowl, mix sugar, mayonnaise and vanilla until well blended. Stir in flour mixture and 1/2 cup pecans. (Dough will be thick and sticky). Press into well-greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with the remaining pecans and press into dough.

Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 15 minutes or until pick inserted comes out clean. Cool. Cookies are soft while hot, but firm when cool.
