3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. orange rind (opt.)
1/2 - 1 sm. pkg. chocolate chips

Mix cream cheese, shortening, sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and orange rind with electric mixer. Then stir in chocolate chips and flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. (These cookies stay white and do not brown.) Makes 3 dozen.
