GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. buttermilk 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 (4 oz.) pkg. Baker's German chocolate Cream the sugar and the butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Alternate the combined flour mixture (flour, salt and soda) with the buttermilk and softened chocolate. Chocolate needs to be softened either by a double boiler method or using the microwave. Place in a greased and floured tube pan. Bake approximately 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan at least 1 hour. Makes 1 cake. |
