CHERRY SQUARES 
1 can cherry pie filling or any fruit
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
4 eggs
3 c. flour, sifted
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs, flour and extract alternately. Beat until smooth. Spread 3/4 batter in greased 9x13 pan. Spread can of cherry. Dot remaining batter and spread. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 45 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. If Pyrex dish is used, bake at 435 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Top with fruit. Chill and serve.
