CHERRY CRUMBLE SQUARES 
1 3/4 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 can sour cherries, keep drained juice
1/2 c. sugar

Blend flour, sugar, salt and butter. Put half of mixture in 8 x 8 inch pan and press lightly. Mix 1 can sour cherries with 1/2 cup sugar. Pour over crust mixture. Add remaining mixture of flour, salt, sugar, and butter. Pat down gently.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
Reserved cherry juice

Thicken sauce by cooking. Serve over dessert while still a little warm.
