MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE 
Sift together:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt

In top of double boiler heat for 5 minutes:

1 3/4 c. coffee
1/4 c. bourbon

Add to double boiler:

5 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 sticks butter (1 c.)

Stir until butter is melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups sugar. Let mixture cool for 3 minutes and transfer to bowl. Add flour mixture to chocolate, 1/2 cup at a time beat at medium speed and continue to beat for 1 minute.

Add:

2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat the batter until it is smooth. Butter 9 x 3 1/2 inch tube pan and dust with cocoa. Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Let cake cool.
