MISS TEXIE'S JAM CAKE 
1 1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
6 eggs, separated
2 c. jam
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
4 c. cake flour
1 tsp. allspice

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk to butter and egg mixture. Fold in jam. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
