FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. dark brown sugar
2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 1/2 tbsp. can milk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
8 oz. can pineapple preserves
6 slices candied pineapple
1/2 lb. red candied cherries
1 1/2 lbs. dates
1 1/2 qts. pecans

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, milk, flour, soda and vanilla. Add rest of ingredients (pineapple, cherries, dates and nuts are chopped into small pieces). Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake 325 degrees for about 12-15 minutes.
