GREAT GRANDMA'S BUTTERSCOTCH
OATMEAL COOKIES
 
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp. hot water or sour cream (softer cookie)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. walnuts
12 oz. pkg. butterscotch chips
2 c. oatmeal

Cream shortening and sugars. Add beaten eggs then hot water (or sour cream). Add flour mixed with baking soda. Add vanilla. Stir in oatmeal, nuts and chips. Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
