WET BOTTOM SHOO FLY PIE | |
1 c. flour 2/3 c. brown sugar 1 tbsp. shortening 1 c. molasses 1 egg, well beaten 3/4 c. hot water 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1. Mix flour, sugar and shortening. Set aside 1/2 cup of the crumbs. 2. Pour hot water over soda and add molasses, well beaten egg, vanilla and crumbs. 3. Pour into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle the 1/2 cup of crumbs on top of pie. 4. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 350 degrees until brown. Makes one 9 inch pie. |
