2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup milk
2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, eggs and flour with mixer, continue beating at medium speed. In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in milk.

Add this to mixture. It will be very thin.

This will make 2 to 4 cake layers or cupcakes.
