POLISH POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. vanilla 5 lg. eggs 3 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained & cut 1 sm. can milk Cream butter, Crisco and sugar (1 cup at a time) until fluffy. Add vanilla, salt and 1 egg; beat well. After each egg add flour and milk. Last, fold in cherries and nuts. Grease and flour cake pan (Bundt pan works well). Start with cold oven - bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours. |
