POLISH POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beat one at a time
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 or 3 oz. whiskey
1 c. milk
2/3 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar together, beat well. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each egg. Add flour and baking powder, that have been sifted together 4 or 5 times, alternately with milk, then vanilla, next the whiskey and last 2/3 cup nuts which have been floured. Mix 1/3 cup powdered sugar and 1/3 cup nut meats together. Put on top of cake before baking. Bake in a tube pan one hour in a 350 degree oven. Grease and flour tube pan.
