PEPPERONI BREAD | |
2 loaves frozen bread dough, defrosted, rubbed with butter 1/2 lb. pepperoni, sliced 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded 1/2 lb. sliced 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese Spread one loaf of defrosted bread dough (defrosts in about 5 hours) on cookie sheet into 9x12 inch rectangle. Spread half of pepperoni down the middle third of the dough. Layer half of each of the cheeses on top of the pepperoni. Overlap the sides. Turn under the short edges and seal. (Important to overlap sides like a trifold and seal the ends well so that the loaf does not open up during baking.) Brush dough with beaten egg. Repeat with other loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool before slicing. Makes 2 loaves. This has been a favorite of my teenage boys for years. It is quick, easy and makes a great snack. |
