CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP | |
Combine one No. 2 can (2 1/2 cups) tomatoes, 2 slices onion, 1 bay leaf, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and cinnamon and dash cloves. Simmer 10 minutes. Strain. Make white sauce of 2 tablespoons each butter and all purpose flour and 2 cups milk. Just before serving, slowly add hot tomato mixture to hot white sauce, stirring constantly. Do not reheat. Yield: 6 servings. |
