MY FRIEND CORINE'S MOTHER'S ANGEL BISCUITS | |
5 c. plain flour 4 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. baking powder 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. shortening 1 tsp. salt 2 c. buttermilk Combine flour, baking soda, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add to flour mixture. Add buttermilk and mix with hands until dough is mixed. Put dough on well-floured surface and cut into biscuits. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. NOTE: Dough will last in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Do not store in aluminum pan or cover with foil. |
