HAMBURGER CASSEROLE 
1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. oil or 3 tbsp.
1/3-1/2 c. milk

Blend cornmeal and flour, stir in shortening and milk.

FILLING:

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 tbsp. melted shortening
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 can tomatoes
1 can kidney beans, drained

Brown ground beef and onions in shortening. Add chili powder, salt and tomatoes. Simmer 15 minutes. Add beans and pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Drop 2 mounds of cornmeal topping over filling. Bake in 425 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 6.
