1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil milk and cornstarch until thick; cool. In a bowl combine sugar, butter and Crisco and beat for 10 minutes. Add cold milk mixture and beat until very thick and light. Add vanilla.

For chocolate flavor, add cocoa with cold milk mix when beating into sugar mixture.
