PRUNE CAKE WITH BUTTERMILK ICING 
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. vegetable oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. ground allspice
buttermilk Icing
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cooked, finely chopped prunes
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine eggs, oil and sugar in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Combine dry ingredients; add to oil mixture, alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla, prunes and pecans.

Spoon batter into a greased and floured 10" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan; cool. Spoon Buttermilk Icing over cake.

BUTTERMILK ICING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in a saucepan, mixing well; cook about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add vanilla and beat well. Icing will be consistency of a glaze.
