ANZAC BISCUITS 
4 1/2 oz. (1 c.) rolled oats
4 oz. (1 c.) plain flour
8 oz. (1 c.) sugar
4 1/2 oz. (1 c.) desiccated coconut (powdered)
4 oz. (1/2 c. or 1 stick) butter
1 tbsp. golden syrup (corn syrup)
1 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp. boiling water

Combine rolled oats, sifted flour, sugar, and coconut. Combine butter and golden syrup (corn syrup), stir over gentle heat until melted. Mix soda with boiling water, add to melted butter mixture, stir into dry ingredients. Spoon dessert spoonfuls of mixture into greased oven trays; allow room for spreading. Bake in slow oven, 300 degrees. Makes approximately 3 dozen.
