2 c. brown sugar
1 c. lard or shortening
3 eggs
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour

Mix all ingredients well. Roll out on floured board. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 375 degrees. Spread filling between two cookies.

FILLING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 c. ground raisins
2 tbsp. flour (to thicken)

Cook to boil. Add 1 cup ground nuts. Cool.
