SIMPLE CLAM CHOWDER 
4 tbsp. butter
1 lg. onion, chopped
3 c. water
12 oz. frozen hash browns
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. sherry, optional

Also 4 slices of chopped fried bacon, optional.

Melt butter; saute onions. Add water. Bring to a boil. Add hash browns; bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes.
