LAYERED VEGETABLE SALAD 
1/2 head lettuce, chopped
Sm. onion, chopped
1 c. frozen peas (do not thaw)
1/2 c. green pepper, cut fine
1 c. grated carrots
1 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise (or more)
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Bacon bits

Layer, in order, in a container with straight sides. Do not mix or stir until ready to serve. This salad needs to be made at least 24 hours in advance, and keeps well after serving.
