NEVER - FAIL FLUFFY BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk Sift together first 5 ingredients. Add shortening. Cut in with pastry blender until mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. Add all at once the milk. Stir just enough to make soft dough. Knead lightly for 30 seconds. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut out and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes. |
