FRESH APPLE BARS 
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 c. oil
2 c. grated apples
1 c. pecans

Grease 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix with spoon and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. butter
1 lb. confectioners' sugar (sifted)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 tsp. milk
Chopped pecans, optional

Soften cream cheese and butter; then cream. Add sugar, vanilla, and milk. The top of the cake may be sprinkled with chopped pecans if desired.
