STRAWBERRY TORTE 
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. saltine cracker crumbs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
Large container of Cool Whip
2 cans strawberry pie mix (Lucky Leaf brand)

Beat egg whites with salt, vanilla until foamy. Add sugar gradually. Beat until stiff peaks are formed. Mix nuts, crumbs and baking powder and fold into egg white mixture. Spread in well greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in slow oven at 300 degrees for 40 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool completely. When cooled, add 1/2 Cool Whip and strawberry pie filling. Top with remaining Cool Whip. Refrigerate several hours before serving.
