BREAKFAST PUFFS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (may use cinnamon or allspice)
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar & 1 tsp. cinnamon (to sprinkle over after baking)
6 tbsp. melted butter

Stir together flour, baking powder, spices and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside. Cream sugar, shortening and egg. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to creamed mixture and beat well.

Fill 12 greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 to 25 minutes in 350 degree oven until golden. Remove from oven and dip in melted butter and coat with cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy!
