DATE-NUT BALLS 
1 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. finely ground pecans
1 c. diced dates
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and flour, stirring well. Stir in pecans and dates. chill 2 hours.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Roll in powdered sugar; cool. Roll in powdered sugar again. Yield: about 4 dozen.
