PEANUT CHEWS 
1 box yellow cake mix (without pudding)
1/3 c. soft butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. white syrup
1 sm. pkg. butterscotch chips
1 c. dry roasted peanuts, chopped

Mix shortening and cake mix and add the 1 egg. Press into 9"x13" pan and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.

Sprinkle over crust 3 cups miniature marshmallows, cover top. Return pan to oven for 3 minutes. Mix together 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup white syrup, small package butterscotch chips and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Heat until chips are melted, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add 1 cup dry roasted peanuts, chopped and 2 cups Rice Krispies. Mix together and spread over marshmallows. Refrigerate and cut into bars.
