PROTEIN BARS 
1/2 cup sugars (white or a brown and white combination)
1/2 cup canola oil
3 eggs (2 if you like protein bar consistency)
1 tsp. flavor (either vanilla, lemon or almond extract)
1 cup wheat flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2.5 cup whole oats
1 cup either raisins, cranberries, nuts or 60% chocolate chips chips

Blend the sugar, oil, eggs and flavoring. Add to that the flour, wheat germ, soda, salt, and oats. Blend well. Then add either the chocolate chips, raisins, cranberries, nuts or any combination. Spread into an ungreased 9 inch rectangular pan.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

Author's note: substitute 1/2 cup agave for the sugars . Decrease egg in recipe to one egg. Substitute one mashed banana for oil. Substitute flax or quinoa for wheat germ.
