JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar (or 1 3/4 c.)
1 c. cooking oil
4 eggs
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. juice of orange
5 lg. apples
2 tsp. cinnamon
5 tbsp. sugar

Measure first 6 ingredients into bowl and mix well. Use tube pan, grease and dusted with flour. Have apples peeled and sliced. Sprinkle them with 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 5 tablespoons sugar. Put half the cake mixture in tube pan with half the apple mixture. Add rest of batter and top with remaining apple mixture. If you wish, sprinkle chopped walnuts over it all. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 3/4 hours.
