SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 lb. pkg. split peas
1 ham bone or 2 ham hocks
1 carrot, diced
1 onion, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
2 qt. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine ingredients in slow cooking crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. Remove ham bone; cut off meat, dice, and return meat to soup. Serves 8.
