FARM COOKIES 
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. butter
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts or slivered almonds

Or chopped & drained maraschino cherries

In large bowl combine flour, soda, cream of tartar. Stir with wire whisk. Cream butter, oil and sugars in mixing bowl until very light. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each. Beat in vanilla. Slowly add dry ingredients. Stir in nuts and/or cherries. Drop in generous teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
