CREAM SICLE CAKE | |
1 box orange cake mix Bake following directions on box (2 layers). The night before you bake cake, mix together: 2 c. sour cream 2 c. sugar 1 lg. pkg. frozen coconut (9 or 12 oz.), thawed Let set in refrigerator overnight. 1 sm. Cool Whip 1 can mandarin oranges, drained, to place on top for color and decoration Bake cake. Let cool and cut layers to make 4. Remove coconut mixture from refrigerator and reserve 1 cup. Then add about half the Cool Whip, a little at a time until desired spreading consistency is reached. Place first layer on cake plate and put some coconut mixture on top.Repeat with second, third, and fourth layers. Ice the sides and top of cake with the remaining Cool Whip. Then add the reserved 1 cup of coconut mixture on top. Decorate with mandarin oranges. |
