ST. GABRIEL'S COFFEE CAKE | |
1/2 c. chopped nuts 2 tsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 sticks butter 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. plain flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1. Mix nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon (set aside for topping). 2. Cream butter and sugar. 3. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. 4. Add sour cream and vanilla, mix well. 5. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add mixture. 6. Grease and flour a tube or bundt pan. 7. Pour part of batter into pan - sprinkle with part of topping. Add remaining batter. Top with remaining topping. 8. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Check for doneness before removing from oven. |
